1. How do I obtain a library card?

Library cards are free, but there is a charge for replacement cards. You need to bring a valid photo ID and proof of your current Mills County address when you come in to the library to fill out a library card application. Acceptable forms of identification are a driver's license, Texas Department of Public Safety ID, U. S. Passport, Resident Alien Registration Card or military, school or employee photo ID. Acceptable proof of address includes any of the above listed items, if address is included. A personalized check or bank statement, recent billing statements, voter's registration, vehicle registration or liability insurance, official rent receipt, rental agreement or other housing contract may also be used for proof of address.

Young persons from pre-school age through the age of 17 must have a parent/guardian come in and sign the application. The above rules for valid photo ID and proof of Mills County address also apply.

Library users are responsible for all materials checked out in their names as well as fines or damaged or lost materials. Fines are 10 cents per day for each item overdue and are calculated only on days we are open. All items are checked out for a period of 2 weeks and are renewable once. The book drop is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Four items may be checked out to a cardholder at one time. You may call or come into the library to renew materials.
